L Lisa Lawrence, performing under the stage name of Phoenix is a classically trained dancer who studied ballet, jazz, tap, interpretive and contemporary dance, musical theater and other performance arts. Her bellydance education includes American Tribal Style, Middle Eastern, Cabaret and Fusion, most recently studying with Jeweled Scarab Dance Company.
A lifelong dancer with a love of and passion for dance, she grew up on stage, performing in film, live theater and in festivals on the West Coast. In addition to her solo appearances, she has performed locally with Flair Entertainment, Ucantu Bellydance, BlackStar and Vuelta La Luna
Dance is a vital form of expression for Phoenix who combines lyrical and traditional bellydance styles to create a unique fusion of storytelling, music and emotion.
Based in Tacoma Washington and performing throughout the greater Puget Sound Region at small private parties, haflas, festivals, shows, in restaurants/clubs and at regional events attended by tens of thousands, Phoenix can perform a variety of dance styles including a diverse selection of dance tools such as: sword, veil, zills, isis wings, fans, candles, and LED lights.
